Capturing Emotions Through Poetry, Stories, and Meditations
Childhood
Separated from her family when she was less than two years old, Helen was tacitly adopted by a missionary from the evangelical church in Chabasquen, a town in the plains of Venezuela, her native country.
The transition between the family environment and the new surroundings affected her character with periods of sadness, depression, isolation and homesickness. As a consequence of all these emotions, an extraordinary fantasy was awakening in her, necessary to escape from reality.
A very strict education, very religious, very limited, often to the extreme of abusing her mind and actions. She was relegated in the new environment to household chores, where her efforts were not appreciated.
Verbal abuse lowered her esteem, making her believe that everything that was said about her was true. Overly sensitive to what others thought or said, she grew up without opportunities to expand her mind and personality to the fullest.
However, she struggled to rise above it all and become a productive and happy person... and she succeeded!
